We are a non-profit international organization of veterinarians and herpetologists founded in 1991. Our goal is to improve reptilian and amphibian veterinary care and husbandry through education, exchange of ideas and research. The Association of Reptilian and Amphibian Veterinarians (ARAV) promotes conservation and humane treatment of all reptilian and amphibian species through education, captive breeding and reptilian and amphibian habitat preservation.

The ARAV needs your participation. We invite you to join forces with more than 1,300 other professionals. Join and support the organization that is improving veterinary care of reptiles and amphibians.

Membership is open to all interested parties, benefits include:

  • Quarterly Journal of Herpetological Medicine and Surgery.The Journal of the ARAV is peer reviewed, referenced, indexed and features state-of-the-art approaches to quality veterinary care of diverse reptiles and amphibians.
  • Membership Directory, and a list of members, alphabetical and by geographical region online.
  • Annual Conference
  • Members receive a discount on registration fees and a copy of the published Proceedings.
  • Conference Proceedings on CD to all current paying members
  • All members attenting the annual conference will receive a printed copy of the Conference Proceedings.
The ARAV awards research and conservation grants. A"classified" section to advise of job openings, preceptorships, residencies and internships.

Dues are payable on a calender year basis to the Association of Reptilian and Amphibian Veterinarians (ARAV), PO Box 1897, Lawrence, Kansas, 66044-8897, USA. To recieve a conference discount, the membership fee must be paid by July 1st of the conference year.
