An adult female Mediterranean spur-thigh tortoise, Testudo graeca, was presented for treatment of a devitalised prolapse of the colon. Resection of the prolapse was performed under general anaesthesia. Clinical signs of gastrointestinal obstruction became evident after 16 d and subsequent coeliotomy revealed a stricture at the site of the previous anastomosis. The stricture was treated following the transverse closure of a longitudinal enterotomy incision. [Abstract]
