Surgical Management of Colon Prolapse and Subsequent Stricture in a Mediterranean Spur Thigh Tortoise, Testudo graeca Christopher G. Lloyd, BVSc (Wild Animal Health) Cert Zoo Med, MRCVS
15 Doverhouse Rd, Putney, London, England SW15 5AA An adult female Mediterranean spur-thigh tortoise, Testudo graeca, was presented for treatment of a devitalised prolapse of the colon. Resection of the prolapse was performed under general anaesthesia. Clinical signs of gastrointestinal obstruction became evident after 16 d and subsequent coeliotomy revealed a stricture at the site of the previous anastomosis. The stricture was treated following the transverse closure of a longitudinal enterotomy incision. [Abstract] Address (URL): http://www.arav.org/journals/JA020655.htm
