"... In this CD, numerous video clips are used along with high quality pictures and text boxes to explain a point. ... tutorials are encountered along the way that are graded by a tutor who then gives his explanation as to why he chose those particular answers. ... Starting in the Basics section, the biology and husbandry of snakes are discussed. The authors touch on natural history as well as choosing a suitable environment, feeding advice, and preventative medicine. The Procedures section contains numerous techniques divided under the headings of Examination, Diagnostics, Therapy, and Theatre. ... The Disease section is divided into Skin Disease, Spectacular Disease, Viral Disease, Some Systemic Diseases, and Some Specific Diseases. This section has good information for the practitioner on some common diseases but also on diseases that may be common in large collections but rarely seen in private veterinary practice of pet animals. The final section is the Resources section. It includes additional information, as well as forms, that would be applicable in a private practice seeing reptiles. A short formulary is also found in this section. The Snake Hospital Registration form has some excellent questions, and if filled out in its entirety, would provide the practitioner with a great head start in case assessment. This is a very informative CD. It is very easy to use, and covers many aspects of reptile medicine. The Resources section in particular is an excellent resource for any practitioner seeing snakes. ... [this CD] has been peer reviewed by Dr. John Rossi and Dr. Steve Barten. ... "
