Many infectious diseases pose a significant risk to captive reptiles and amphibians. Effective therapy does not currently exist for many of these pathogens. As part of responsible husbandry, it is important to know the serologic status of captives when possible and to prevent the introduction of infectious diseases in a stable captive collection. One of the most important parts of responsibly managing a collection is utilizing proper quarantine. The panel members will share their expertise on appropriate quarantine.
